GREETINGS BIOL335 STUDENTS!
Considering the number of emails that I usually receive in BIOL334, I thought I'd try a new electronic medium for 335. Some of the advantages of blogs over email are:
1-when someone asks a question, everybody has access to it (and to its answer)
2-people can answer each other's questions, and discuss problems, tips and tricks that they used
3-they allow anomymity
4-they allow people to leave suggestions, complaints, feedback, etc (anonymously)!
My office hours are on Monday, 4-6pm in room 2519 (biosciences building).
PLEASE REALIZE THAT THIS BLOG DOES NOT, BY ANY MEANS, REPLACE THE OFFICIAL COURSE WEBSITE.
To leave a comment: click on 'comments' and follow the instructions in the pop-up window.
I am in the process of adding some potentially useful links. If you find any interesting websites, etc, you are encouraged to share the information!
I will also post summaries, extra explanations and additional practice questions at people's request.

Have a great term, I am looking forward to working with all of you!

I was just wondering if anyone has started problem set 2 and if so, what did you all make of the first question? Do you think it is a positive regulation since when the mutation occurs the number of enzymes decreases acting more or less like an activator and not a repressor.
Looks like nobody's started problem set 2 yet...
I like your interpretation (positive regulation)!
(You'll find that if no one answers a comment within about 24hrs, I'll 'comment on the comment'-if that's OK with everyone)
