Anyone have any idea as to how questions will be asked from this section? I doubt it will be like the textbook problems.....
How will we know the difference between a promotor/enhancer trap and the yeast two hybrid? Also, with the maternal effects, if the mother is defficient for something, but the father has it, the progeny will have it too, but they will still be mutant?
Dr Hughn's questions will very likely be the same style as the practice questions posted on the 335 website.
How to spot the difference between an enhancer trap and a yeast 2 hybrid system? Well, if the question says "an enhancer trap approach was used to....", then we are dealing with an enhancer trap, if it asks "how would you employ the 2 hybrid system to test X..." then we are dealing with the 2 hybrid system...
Don't worry, you'll be told what the experiment is and what method was used!
If the question is about choosing a method, then just pick the one that seems easiest to you.
